ELLISTAT makes fully automated machining accessible to TopSolid users

Poisy (74), January 13, 2026. Ellistat announces the integration of its APC (Automated Process Control) solution with TopSolid CAM via its ELLICAM module. Introduced in early 2025, this module automatically recovers data from CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, enabling machining tools to operate autonomously, without human intervention, while guaranteeing 100% of good parts.

A true pillar of Industry 4.0, APC has a dual strategic challenge: automate machine tool set-up and sustainably improve production quality.

APC: automate settings and control variability

The fruit of two theses and over 15 years of research, APC has been on the market since 2017, completely transforming and reinventing machining. Its ability to control process variability, whatever the type of machine -turning, 3- to 5-axis and combined machining- or the complexity of the parts, makes it an unrivalled benchmark. Productivity gains, reduced scrap and set-up times are spectacular.

Boosted by Machine Learning algorithms, APC enables machine tools to be adjusted from the measurement of a part. The correctors calculated by APC are sent directly to the machine, creating a truly closed loop. The system learns continuously from its own corrections, to improve performance over time. For each production run, the first machined part is systematically compliant with the required tolerances and centered.

ELLICAM, the bridge between FAO and APC

With the optional ELLICAM module, it is no longer necessary to specifically configure toolpaths in the APC. Machining data from the CAM software is directly integrated to configure the APC closed loop. In practice, ELLICAM uses the 3D topology of the workpiece and NC toolpaths to automatically generate the manufacturing data required to configure the APC.

Davy Pillet, CEO of Ellistat, explains: « The aim of the ELLICAM module is to standardize machine tool automation. Until now, the main obstacle was the time it took to configure a new part. This is now a thing of the past, as ELLICAM eliminates around 80% of set-up time for each new part number. In a few years' time, it will no longer be possible to see a machine shop where parts are still set manually.. "

Native integration with TopSolid

From now on, via ELLICAM, the APC solution is integrated into TopSolid'cam CAM from version 7.20 onwards. A specific TopSolid add-in enables automatic export of the 3D part and APC configuration information. Data is transmitted via the network, and no prior knowledge of APC is required.

In concrete terms, ELLICAM retrieves data (geometries, machining operations, origins, tools, offsets) via a native STEP extraction (interface). Within the framework of intelligent synchronization, this information is transmitted to the APC via API for analysis, and ELLICAM then generates offset profiles and tooling roadmaps in a closed loop, without any human intervention. Integrated Machine Learning algorithms identify systematic deviations and send compensation directly to the CNC (via DNC protocol or API CN). Measurable and immediate results are obtained from a single sample.

Davy Pillet adds: « Automatic integration of TopSolid CAM data into the APC saves 80 % of set-up time. Set-up time is reduced from 3 hours to just 15 minutes for the first part. What's more, quality is guaranteed thanks to precise dimensional alignment, directly to nominal tolerance. "

Today, plugins for AlphaCAM and TopSolid are available, and Ellistat is actively pursuing the development of integrations with other CAM solutions on the market. Eventually, Ellistat aims to cover most available CAM solutions.
