Experimental designs using the Taguchi method

Design of experiments using the Taguchi method
Most engineers and technicians improve their products or production processes through testing. Unfortunately, the strategies commonly used to conduct these experiments are often informal and inefficient. They lead to numerous trials that are difficult to exploit. The Design of Experiments (DOE) method provides a formal approach to testing that avoids the costly drawbacks of a trial-and-error strategy.
This book has been designed to enable professionals to get to grips with the basic concepts of experimental design, and to produce their first designs very easily. Emphasis has been placed on a pedagogical approach to experimental design, particularly in the first chapters, which are deliberately devoid of statistical calculations to enable the reader to concentrate on the essentials.
The first chapters of the book are devoted to complete experimental designs, which are very easy to implement. Subsequent chapters focus on fractional designs, using Dr Taguchi's approach, which greatly simplifies the creation of a design of experiments.
Original strategies are proposed to design experiments while limiting the risks for the experimenter. Experienced professionals will be able to refine their practice by tackling the robust design approach based on Taguchi's product designs.
An important chapter is devoted to the optimization of dynamic systems, whose efficiency is formidable.
