The continuous distributions page of the Data Analysis displays the theoretical representation of 3 distributions:

Normal distribution:

💡Definition: Normal distribution

The parameters are

  • Average: Sample average
  • Sigma: Sample standard deviation
  • Lower limit: Minimum tolerance value
  • Lower limit: Maximum tolerance value
  • < Lower limit: Probability of obtaining a value lower than the minimum tolerance
  • Upper limit: Probability of obtaining a value greater than the maximum tolerance.

Distribution of student:

💡Definition: Student's distribution

The parameters are

  • Average: Sample average
  • Sigma: Sample standard deviation
  • DDl: Number of degrees of freedom of the distribution
  • Lower limit: Minimum tolerance value
  • Lower limit: Maximum tolerance value
  • < Lower limit: Probability of obtaining a value lower than the minimum tolerance
  • Upper limit: Probability of obtaining a value greater than the maximum tolerance.

Chi2 distribution:

💡Definition: χ² distribution

The parameters are

  • DDl: Number of degrees of freedom of the distribution
  • Lower limit: Minimum tolerance value
  • Lower limit: Maximum tolerance value
  • Lower limit: Probability of obtaining a value below the minimum tolerance.
  • Upper limit: Probability of obtaining a value greater than the maximum tolerance.
