The results follow the conventions of FactoMineR, the academic standard in factor analysis. Specifically:
⇒ Quantitative variables are centered and scaled by the population standard deviation; ;
⇒ the coordinates of a variable on an axis are its correlation with this axis; ;
⇒ the coordinates of the individuals have a variance equal to the eigenvalue of the axis; ;
⇒ The contributions of a given axis sum to 100 %; the cosines squared of a point sum to 1 across all axes; ;
⇒ The total inertia is equal to the number of variables in PCA.
These conventions allow for a direct comparison of Ellistat output with FactoMineR output on the same dataset.
