Quality is measured at the end of production; reliability is measured over time. A part that passes the final inspection may fail after six months: that’s a different issue, and it requires different tools.
Reliability raises three distinct questions, which this menu addresses:
- How long does my product last? — estimate a lifetime distribution based on feedback or testing; ;
- How can you prove this before selling? — determine the scope of a demonstration test; ;
- Are my returns in line with what was expected? — monitor the installed base.
Click the «Data Analysis» menu, then click «Reliability.».
